My Sabbath Day

After preaching on Sabbath rest last Sunday I sought to live out the teaching on Monday (my day off). Years ago I heard Pastor Phil preach on Sabbath rest, and so it is not a new idea for me; however, I realized throughout the day how I had become lax in my devotion.

Please hear me. I am not arguing for a legalism in regards to the Sabbath, and if you listen to the teaching I hope that is clear. Experiencing God...an update

We have been in a series this summer called ONE--Living as one with the one true God. In it we are seeking live lives united to God where we are so united to God we, like Jesus, only do what we see the Father doing (John 5.19-20). Here are some challenges to keep us focused:

  • Remember: God is always at work around us. Keep your eyes open to His work.
  • Remember: We can do nothing without God.
  • Remember: God is inviting us to join Him in His work in the world.
  • Remember: God doesn't need us to dream up a work for Him to bless. We are called to be a part of His vision.
  • Remember: Our hearing the voice of God is intimately tied to our relationship with God. The deeper the relationship, the more we experience life in God.

These teachings are deepening my relationship with God. I hope you are experiencing the same. God is calling us all to trust Him more.

I should also mention I am indebted to Henry Blackaby and Claude V. King's  book Experiencing God for this series. It's an amazing book.  I hope you will pick up a copy.
